Perhaps people have shown a lot of interest and they have decided to pursue it.

That looks like a spectacular campervan.

Interesting... I will be watching to see how much one can adjust the interior for one's specific wants.
I suspect that this has come about because people want a garage-able van camper... and who knows how much longer the Chevy will be available for conversions.

Thanks for posting that sportsmobile video. It looks very interesting. Have they announced any pricing yet?

If I wanted one of those, I would have it built out of a Sienna for sure.

GTRV makes them on the Sienna. However I really enjoyed driving the Metris. Would have bought one but my wife didn't want a pop top roof and wanted rear AC... so I was "forced" to buy a Sprinter based RV. Seriously though I am glad to see another Metris camper.

I had a simpler conversion on a Sienna and I would definitely go with the expanded space of the Metris. The Sienna was pretty cramped. Not sure that the Metris would work for me as long as I have my dog... even though she is quite small.

I've never actually seen a Metris up close, so I am just asking, but:
Is the Metris really that much bigger? I know it is TALLER, but other than that, as best I can tell from the published dimensions they seem pretty close. Not sure the height matters that much if you have a pop-up.
I am not really tempted by such a camper, but I have a 2005 Sienna, which is literally the best vehicle I have ever owned.

When you're dealing with so little space, every inch helps. LOL
But, you are correct, the Sienna is a great vehicle. I loved the laser cruise control. I traded my 2008 in at the same time as my 2011 Libero... and the dealer owed me money on the deal for the new 170.

Yeah. The reason I am still driving my 2005 is that it has both AWD and laser cruise. For some bizarre reason, you couldn't order both in later models. (I think maybe they finally fixed that last year). That, and the fact that nothing ever breaks on it. After almost 150K miles, the only non-routine repairs I have paid for are one O2 sensor and a small piece of exhaust pipe. Feels and drives like new. Amazing vehicle.
