lp not getting to appliances, need help
Hi , I have a 97 roadtrek, was out doing some maintenence on my rv, when I tried to put the dometic fridge on, it will not light on propane, but works fine on 12v, and shore power, so I went to put on the furnace, gave heat for a few seconds, then stopped giving heat, then I thought I would lite the stove, they both lit for about 5 seconds, then died out, went out to check the lp level, shows 3/4 full, open and closed the valve, which felt much easier than normal to turn, went back inside, tried to lite the burners again, same as before, lasted for a few seconds, the went out., so I have lp, but its not reaching the appliances, my first thoughts are either the valve, or the regulator, is there any way I can test to see if either of these is malfunctioning? I have never had a lp problem before, did some research online, but no real success yet, if you have any ideas, I would really appreciate it, thank you,,,,,,,,,,,Josef,,,

If your tank is full, it's probably the regulator. Got the same problem right now.....

Re: lp not getting to appliances, need help
Can we switch that ourselves, or is it better to have a pro do it, I would think the pressure has to be set perfectly, for the appliances to work properly, it looks like a fairly simple job to replace it,

Re: lp not getting to appliances, need help
Regulator replacement would be DIY for me. It's probably not too expensive to have an RV place do it for you as it would be a simple task for a technician.
These two articles from the RV Doctor are very informative:
http://www.rvdoctor.com/2001/01/avoidin ... ystem.html
http://www.rvdoctor.com/2002/01/what-pr ... ystem.html
You could check vents on the regulator (noted in the first article) before replacing it.

Re: lp not getting to appliances, need help
Thank you , those articles were very Informative, I called my local rv repair shop, and they have a regulator in stock, approxamitely $50.00, so I will try that first, and go from there, luckily we have no trips planned till march, so I have some time to get things back to normal, thank you again,,,,,, Josef,,,,,
