Default Loose Mirrors

Hi. On my 1997 Pleasureway Excel Dodge Ram 3500 the outside main mirrors t move out of position whenever the front doors are closed. Youtube videos suggest I must take off the inside door panel to get at them to tighten them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tighten these mirrors in an easier fashion?? Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums

Can you post a pic of the mirrors used on your van?

Some have a clamps, some use a bushing...

For "dodge stuff" there are millions of dodge vans on the road check youtube

if your mirrors are like this van, the cover should pull out or have a screw, then slide up the mirror post. under will be a clamp you can tighten

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, it was an easy fix - one screw removed the plastic cover and then there was access to the 4 screws holding the clamp which I tightened. Job done!

I had the same issue on my 1997 PW dodge. The screws you reference came loose on mine again. I bought new SS screws and used thread lock, replacing one at a time. Easy. Mine haven't come loose again over the last few years.

Just something to keep in mind if yours loosen up in the future.

I have the same issue. I just put a little LocTite threadlocker (Blue 242, the removable kind) on the swivel every year or two.
