Looking for maximum seatbelts-sleeping unimportant
Hello,
We are searching for a Class B that offers maximum seating options with seatbelts, 4-6. Sleeping options are less important as we would likely be staying in hotels, airbnb, family, etc. Just want a comfortable, spacious ride for our family of 4 with option of 1-2 more seats. Would welcome any thoughts or suggestions. Our budget is subject to what we find. Thanks so much!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums.
I would suggest you get a seated conversion van if you are not sleeping in the RV.
with 6 people in a van, using the toilet would be less than private and you'd be experiencing full tanks more frequently.
And would you be able to prepare meals for 6 in the galley?
Those are the attributes of a campervan/Class B
being able to prepare meals and use toilet and shower ( even while going down the road), if you don't need these expensive features and the space dedicated to them you could save many 10's of thousands with a conversion van
Few B's have safe seating for 4 even fewer for 6
Some recent RoadTrek/Hymer models have a safety recall for the extra 2 seats. Older Great West vans have 4 seats.
Some models ( & someone will post info) have a rear sofa with belted positions
We have a 2 seater- just the 2 front seats which swivel
Cheers, Mike

The Airstream Interstate Lounge models offer safe forward seating for seven. Mine is very comfortable for six. The rear bench seat/bed only has lap belts. Their nine passenger model has two seats facing inward and are often considered less safe.
The Roadtrek RS Adentureous has safe seating for six. There are other B-vans with similar arrangement for easily seating six.

My MY2014 GWV Legend with the trifold bed has forward seating for five. The center rear seat is lap-belt only, but the outer ones have shoulder harnesses. You could add a sixth seat by sacrificing the wardrobe behind the driver's seat.
Be warned, though, that since the rear seats in this configuration are behind the rear axle on the Sprinter, the ride for back seat passengers is truly awful. This is true of all long-wheelbase Sprinters. ARV tries to address this with fancy airbag thingies, but the one I rode did not seem to be much of an improvement.

That is a smart point.

We just recently traded in our LTV Freedom wide body. It had seat belts for 7 in it. Four seats in front and a couch with 3 belts in the back. It could sleep 4 people if you didn't mind sleeping on a narrow bed. The two seats in the middle made into beds and the rear couch made a 3/4 bed. Just traded it in last week to 417 Coachworks in Missouri.

The Winnebago ERA 70X has 6 (or 7?) built-in seatbelts. It would be easy to add an extra lapbelt or two to the rear bench, which is wide enough to seat 4 across. If you did that it would have a total of 8 forward-facing belted seating positions, 4 with shoulder belts, and two best left for kids. This is probably true of the equivalent Roadtrek, Interstate, etc. models with near-identical floorplans.

The Roadtrek Etrek, RS and CS all offer seating for six with four in front and two seat belts for the bench seat in back.
There is a recall in Canada for the second row seats in ones manufactured by the old Roadtrek. Essentially the seats don't meet the crash standards. There is a fix developed by the new Roadtrek that is available for the older models.

Check out the Solis
Hello! We just purchased a Solis Winnebago. Has seating for 4 with the back seat belt strap. If you purchased the sofa bed there are 3 more seats there for a total of 5 plus the driver and upfront passenger then totals 7. The Solis offers a pop top to sleep 2 and the camper bed sleep 2 in the main van. Nice refrigerator with a small kitchenette and a toilet and shower area. We pick it up in 2 months. Huge demand for all Rv's during Covid. I wish you all the best. www.winnebago.com

The VanDOit-LIV campervan has seating for up to 8 (their DO model seats up to 11, but it is more designed for activities/hauling; the LIV is designed more like an RV). The LIV's seats are REMOVABLE, so you can adjust as you need them. For safety, they are DOT approved, include 3-way harnesses (not the crummy lap belts like many RVs), and the extra seating is nearer the front of the cabin for better safety and comfort. Finally, they build on the Ford Transit passenger chassis and this includes airbags for rear passengers and HVAC ducting throughout the cabin for comfort while travelling.
