Re: List of Ram Promaster based Class B Campervans
The last time this older customer base handled a large container of poop was when I was working at the Oklahoma City Zoo for a couple months back in '92. (Long story)
That was enough for me!

Re: List of Ram Promaster based Class B Campervans
Advanced RV has a YouTube video which goes into excellent detail on this. Basically everything what Davydd states was covered in the video, from having to disassemble the toilet to empty the poop to finding a place to dilute the urine by a factor of 10 or more (so it doesn't burn the plants nearby.) Their summary of why black tanks are by far the most popular makes sense -- one uses a dump hose with the gray tank... why not just use it with the black tank as well, and not have to lug 5-6 gallons of poop water around, only to have to add water and chemical packs to keep the cassette from smelling. To boot, the cassette would either have to have an obvious hatch on the outside or one would have to make a bathroom with a path so one can lug the cassette out from inside. Similar with the composting toilet -- the bathroom would require additional space for disassembling the toilet.
This isn't to say a cassette toilets and composting toilets don't have their uses. If I had a small cottage on unimproved land that I wouldn't want to add a septic system to, I'd definitely go for a composting toilet, as I wouldn't have to worry about the stuff freezing. Here in TX, a cassette toilet with 3-4 cassettes would be useful as well, since a rotation could be done to empty them out and have spares on hand. However, for a class "B", why reinvent the wheel... there are lots of places with dump stations even in central Texas, and why do additional work, as the gray tank will need dumped, so might as well just have the black emptied the same way.

Re: List of Ram Promaster based Class B Campervans
The person who requested the composting toilet from Advanced RV announced herself on the Facebook "B"ing in an Advanced RV group. She said one modification will be the elimination of the bathroom sink to gain more room. Another modification I can see being made is going to a full double door opening like we had in our Great West Van Legend. That way you can get direct access to the toilet instead of it being stuck back in a cubby space as Advanced RV has now.
From the video it sounded like the Nature's Head composting toilet was the chosen one at this time. That is the same one the Wynn's demoed. It weighs 28 lbs. empty. I just carried a case of beer into my house this afternoon. That's 24 twelve-ounce bottles and is no longer easy to do going through the door. It would take two people, one to hold the doors open. Either that, or they have to make it so you don't carry a toilet out doors as the Wynn's demonstrated.

Re: List of Ram Promaster based Class B Campervans
That in itself is a good argument for the traditional black tank system. It is a heck of a lot easier stuffing a macerator hose down a pipe and letting fly than trying to yank your entire toilet (or large parts of it) out of the van and empty the thing.
Honestly, I wouldn't see how one could legally dump a composting toilet in a suburban to urban environment. There is putting the contents in a garbage bag (ugh), then tossing that into a trash can or dumpster. One wrong move and there are 30+ pounds of poop on the floor. Another wrong move and a vital piece of the toilet like the bucket or agitator might wind up thrown away by accident. Then, there is the fact that there may be laws against dumping human waste on that scale into a dumpster, much less a trash can at a gas station or place with "no household garbage" signs. With how suspicious people are, it almost would earn a visit from the local PD. To boot, the waste couldn't be tossed down a drain due to the large amount of soil. Only real way to dispose of it is to drive way into a rural area and toss it out in the woods, hope nobody finds it. This may work if boondocking, but definitely not the way most people want to do their business.

The 4x4 Sprinter will surely be their future thoroughbred.

Hi, I don't know if this made the list of Class B's on the Ram Promaster and I missed it (very possible), but another Class B to add to the list is the Panoramic, out of Canada. We are on the waiting list for one. Hoping to get it by September 2022!
