Thor is notorious for bad builds. Also, many other manufacturers are as well. Out of the major manufacturers the one with best quality I have seen is pleasureway.

Apparently you were not aware of the abysmal reputation of Thor as to quality control. For Class B rigs, I would say that they are the worst by far.

I think you will find that Ram won't touch any added part in a converted van. That has always been true and permission from the converter doesn't matter. There are Ram dealers that won't do any work on any converted van... until you open a case with their customer service to force them to at least do warranty work.

I knew going in that Thor build quality wasn’t as good as Winnebago and others. The fact the the van was $30,000 less expensive than the closest similarly equipped alternative was not lost on me either.

We have had our DIY Promaster serviced from Alaska to New Hampshire. We’ve never asked anyone to address anything we did, but no shop, dealer or not, has ever backed away because the van wasn’t stock.

You were lucky. Many people on the RV boards on FB... way too many... report that their local dealers that sell Promasters won't touch it... at all. They whine, "it's too heavy for our lifts."
Which is ridiculous because my dealer here in MN could do an oil change and rotate tires on the ground with no problem. (true of all of the 3 closest dealers around Minneapolis 'burbs) I never asked them to do anything related to the conversion.
Always been many lousy dealers... RVs or not. lol

Makes good sense if one is able to do most of the needed fixes yourself. For those of us who can't, one is stuck with the joy of trying to get a service appt to put things back together. lol

Stay away from Regency - I believe they are out of business. We have a 2021 class B+ Ultra Brougham with a slideout on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis - naively bought it in 2022 without any research because it had the layout we wanted that no one else did. The electrical problems continue after thousands in repairs and upgrades. And stupid design issues, like how it heats (or doesn't) continue to plague us. Paid a fortune for it, way more than our Tiffin 33 ft Allegro Open Road, and are sorry we did. Now so much is invested we keep hoping we can make it work for us. Regency would barely talk to us about warranty issues.
