Default Hot water heater

Hi, we have a 2006 Pleasureway RV and since de-winterizing it, we can’t ignite the hot water heater. Any help would be appreciated.

Give the brand and model of the water heater and look up the manual online. There should be a trouble shooting section in the manual.

Does the red light come on when you turn the switch on? It should go off when the water heater lights. I assume it doesn’t go off.

Yes, picture or model # is helpful. When I first tried to light our Suburban SW6DE (and it wouldn't), I found a mud duaber nest the size of the palm of my hand that was there when we bought it.

I did get it to light after the mud nest was removed, but it's never lit easily and always burns with a deep orange flame rather than the blue flame you look for. I replaced everthing but the lp valve and cleaned every orafice but no improvement.

Wow that’s crazy. Thank you for sharing. Manually lit with lighter and wiggled the red wire and now it works . Thank you.

Glad you found a fix, if only a manual one. My electronic lighter seems to be sparking and yet it sometimes takes a dozen attempts to light mine (and I still get a totally orange flame). I'll try manually lighting mine. Won't be the worst thing to get it lit as we use it only occassionally on propane since we have the electric option when plugged in.
