Default High clearance?

We are looking for a class B that can handle gravel roads and uneven surfaces. 4x4 is probably more than we need but may be the only way to get enough ground clearance. A secondary concern is all the stuff hanging under the body being vulnerable. Any recommendations on models? We’d like something 2-5 years old. This question was asked a couple of years ago but I was hoping for some new insights.

You can get suspension lifts to get you the same ground clearance as a 4 x 4 in a Sprinter with having the 4 x 4.
