Default Help Reading Stats

I just recharged (via the shore/convertor/charger) my 100AH Lifeline AGM and wanted to pass some stats gathered from my Victron monitor to see if they make sense.

Chart.png

Column #1 is with house battery on but not connected to shore/charger. I'm guessing that the .2A draw is from my LP and CO detectors because nothing else is on in the coach.

Column #2. Charger connected.

Columns #3 and #4. Charger still connected. Readings taken about 10min apart.

Column #5. Taken about an hour after #4. I don't quite understand why the SOC dropped (as well as the AH consumed). Incoming current is progressively dropping off, which I assume is good/normal.

Column #6. Taken about an hour after 5. Again, SOC and consumed AH have dropped.

Column #7. An hour later than #6. Not sure why there has been the jump from 72% to 100%.

From the beginning the battery voltage has progressively gone up.

Any observations greatly appreciated.

thx.glenn

The chart shows why using the SOC during a recharge can be very misleading. It is more likely to read over 100% but can do as yours has done and stay low, also. Ignore the % for the most part and look at the amps. The amps went from plus to minus early on which meant the battery was full and what you saw was the voltage dropping the surface charge. The monitor does a reset after the volts and amps get to full battery setpoints within the monitor, but only after the battery discharges a bit. This is exactly what the chart is showing happened. It is likely that future SOC will be closer to showing what is really the SOC, but it will vary by depth of the discharge and the charge efficiency setting in the monitor. One of the amp hour in/out readouts should also have reset with the 100% point and gone to zero in/out, also.

It looks like the monitor did as it was intended to do, and now you will have an accurate SOC and amp hour counter going down during discharge.

Booster is correct.

But would it be easy if you took a screen shot like these?

Did you have to go to the trouble of entering all that in a database?

TMD,

Sure, I could have taken 7 screenshots. But I didn't find it hard to just record the data at various times. I thought it might be easier for an outsider to digest if it were all in one bundle.

Fridge/charging still good?

Glenn,

The Fridge I rarely if ever think about, the Freezer fluctuates more (down to 17°), but on average stays 21° & the Fridge 29°, power consumption had stayed around an average of 2.2amps x 12 hours per day.

The issue was the Perfect Storm of a frequently intermittent connection on the negative side of the charging side & the the hottest heat wave in Los Angeles history.

But even if I was in South Texas or Scottsdale, the fridge IF connected properly would have performed as such.

With the cooler weather I just turned it down from (middle point) of the 1-7 gauge to 3.5 otherwise my freezer stays around 15° & the fridge 24°.
