Default Grab handle for sliding door entry?

Hello all,
We want to install a grab handle, or two, inside the sliding door of our Promaster 2015 GWV. After multiple surgeries, we need more stability in making that step from the ground to the step and into the van, especially important when carrying stuff. But we are concerned that installation of such might mess up wiring inside the door frame between the sliding door and the passenger seat. Has anyone successfully installed such a handle, or does anyone have any thoughts about what might be inside that door panel that could potentially be messed up?

Thanks for any advice.

Take yourself over to Promasterforum.com. Several threads demonstrate that it is easy. Underneath the plastic cover (which pops off) there are screw holes conveniently spaced to fit several options. People use various spacers to avoid crushing the plastic.

Thanks much MsNomer; I have not used the Promaster Forum much; it often seemed to me to be populated by and discussing craftmen matters more than at RVers. That makes sense for them, of course.

That is a correct assessment of the forum, but you will now become a craftsman.
