Folding seat/bed operation

Just purchased a 1997 Mur-Van Xplorer van. We love it but can't figure out how to operate the single seat behind the passenger seat. It folds down to make a bed with the front seat, but we can't get it to operate. Any help out there?

Also, have a small, red, LED light mounted on the dash that stays lit all of the time. Have no clue to its purpose. Tried to trace it but its too tight under the dash. Any clues?

Look under the hood & see if there's an alarm installed.
