Simplified list of safety features
1) Back Up Camera – Video feed from rear
2) Rear parking sensor – Shows distance from solid objects in back
3) Pre Collision Alert - Alerts when too close to object
4) Pre Collision Avoidance/Brake Assist - Helps apply brakes when necessary
5) Blind Spot Monitoring - keeps from turning into cars in blind spot
6) Side Sensors - Alerts when side objects are detected
7) Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – Controls cruise speed and keeps behind other cars at a preset distance.
8.) Active Distance Assist – related to ACC
9) Lane Keeping Assist - Keeps from straying into lanes without blinker
10) Traffic Sign Assist - Reminder of road signs
11) Attention Assist - Alerts if drowsy behavior pattern is detected
12) Cross Traffic Alert - Alerts when cross traffic detected
13) Crosswind/Stability Assist - adjusts for swaying
14) Pedestrian Assist (Night view assist) – Recognizes warm blooded mammals (also at night). Applies brakes and flashes lights. Uses infra red and thermal detectors
15) Post Collision Braking - avoids secondary accident
Discussion point: Here is a list of safety features. I find all of them very useful. #1 and #2 are currently standard in 2020 Ram chassis for most manufacturers. #3, 4, and 5 are available in the 2021 Ram drive train.
Apparently the Ram based coach makers can pick and choose, but I speculate most will pick them all, since Dodge is so far behind Ford and MB.
Some of the remaining safety features are currently part of the Ford or Sprinter chassis. The exception is #14. I find that extremely useful in a sedan, but apparently it has not made its way into any of the truck lineups.
