Default First RV Questions

We are looking for our first RV and looking at Airstream, Midwest and Pleasure Way. Any help appreciated.
Is the model year of the RV based on the chassis or when the conversion is done?

"Any help", your motorhome needs and wants are unknown?

Model year is not based on chassis year or VIN, but walk into the DMV of at least one state and they will just go with whatever the VIN says and NOT look at the paperwork from the manufacturer. It would be very unusual but there could be a difference of 2 years.

The 3 manufacturers cited above are considered more expensive. Both Airstream and Pleasure Way provide both Class B and C rv's, don't recall Midwest but seems like maybe only B's? If you are considering a class C, Leisure Travel should be included, imo. Presently they only offer class C rv's though.

Please tell us more.

In my state they go by the VIN, so it shows one year older than RT says.
The good thing is, I'm taxed on it as a base model van.

My PW 2017 Ascent is on a 2016 MB Sprinter 2500 chassis, with the coach completed in 2017. It is registered in Va as a 2016. Hope this helps...RalphAscent

I have a Midwest that is now four years old. Very well constructed with nice attention to detail. Systems also seem nicely done. If I were looking for a new one they would certainly be on my list. I did swap out agm batteries for 600 amp hours of lithium which is fantastic.

Love my 2004 Pleasure Way...it has everything I need...well, would rather have enclosed wet bath, but, generally it looks and runs like new!!
