Default Filling water tank

We are struggling to fill the water tank. We start to fill it, following all the instructions and it just runs out the overflow. We must be doing something very basic incorrectly. Can anyone help?

Hello and Welcome

either the tank is full*... or the fill hose is damaged or blocked

which year and model RV ?

on my 2006 Pleasure Way Lexor the "spa hose" between the external fill and the top of the water tank split/failed

I have yet to drop the tank to fix this, so I worked a length of food grade tubing inside as a sleeve to fill the tank It works fine

*it may be that your fresh water led display isn;t calibrated and your tank is full ?
There should be a drain valve on the bottom of the tank

Water accumulation in the vent tube could block water entry to the water tank. You could try to apply air pressure to the vent tube to purge water from there. This subject was discussed before. https://www.classbforum.com/forums/f...tml#post128543

Yes. We have to wait until August though to get a service appointment!

I'd complain to the manufacturer

this reflects very poorly that their customer service network has failed so easily.
demonstrates a lack of concern or interest once they have your money

One of the first RV's we looked at was a 2010 Winnebago Era. The sprinter part was awesome.
The quality of the conversion was shocking. Lifting the cushions showed rough wood cuts and blind screws ( screws not attached to anything behind), cabinetry glides falling loose from the cabinet frames.

imagine the quality of the gas, electrical and water systems.

Sorry you got suckered

Some Winnebagos I’ve read about have a switch to be able to use the gravity fill.
Do you have a manual with this rig? Winnebago also has had good online documentation. I’d suggest you start looking there or call the factory. It shouldn’t be so difficult.

Try filling at a slower flow rate, mine will do that if the flow rate is to high.

On our Roadtrek the water inlet to the tank is opposite the vent. If I fill at a high flow rate it seems the water must shoot across the tank creating a wave against the wall with the vent that climbs high enough to force water out the vent. Reducing the flow stops water coming out the vent.

The thread GeorgeRa referenced was my query when I had the same problem. His recommendation cured my problem. Worth a shot
