Default Door panel sold separately ? ( Dometic RM 2354)

During my search online for Dometic RM 2354 fridge (2310 replacement) came across Camping World page. They had the lowest price but selling the door panel separately ( to be cut to exact fit).
A while ago I was told by Dometic that this model has the same size as 2310 for RT 170.
Interesting that most places selling it "as is" .Understandably more expensive but without mentioning door panel adjustment.
Camping world is not close to my area. And my RV place only install what they order.
Anyone with RT 170 had the door panel issue?
I do realise that 170 may slightly different height if made a different year than 1997.But I hope to get some general idea what's the story with the door panel.
Though this fridge is not RT specific.Still - more reason to mention door panel possible adjustment.

The fridge is sold with no decorative panel in a slot in the door. The silver insulation is visible. You can go to any art store and pick any color you want to fit in that slot. I picked white.

Don’t spend any time thinking about it and solve it when you get it. Dometic will sell you a panel at an outrageous price.

If Dometic says the panel is the same size as on your 2310, can't you just transfer that one to the 2354? Also, you could follow hbn7's advice and maybe get some vinyl veneer to cover the white. Check AMZ for "formica laminate" possibilities.

Thank you so much!
After reading online stories about the fridge being shorter despite listed as direct replacement I decided that "panel" is not just that decorated plastic but something like substantial part of the door.

I believe that you are correct. I still have the RM2310 in a 1997 Pleasureway but it's under cover and I can't check. My father in law saved all the original documentation and the parts list for the RM2310 does not list a separate door panel. So that's that!

I simply used the old one. If I didn't have one, I would have picked up something and cut to size. It just slides in from the top and down the black trim.

The 2354 fits the same size openeing(with some minor adjustments) as the 2310. The door panel does not come with the 2310 no matter where you buy it. Camping worrld does seem to have the best price. The door panel from the 2310 does not fit the door on the 2354.

I had some leftover 1/8" dry erase board from another projest that I used for the door panel. Our interior is white so it looks really good. We can also write notes on it if we like.

Tim,thank you very much !
Camping World does have the best price but they denied warranty with DIY installation. And if you add the labor price...
But Camping World is the only place that warns about having to buy a door panel separately.
In my opinion it is completely insane to sell unfinished product especially very expensive one.
I am going to check with Nomadic Supply .Their description of the product mentions "optional" door panel to fit any interior design. It sounds like " if you do not like our door panel color you can purchase a different panel at our store".

There is nothing in the Dometic Warranty that says this. I would not rely on CW for a warranty anyway.

You are right.Dometic confirmed about their warranty.
About the door sold separately- I was very surprised when recently found that statement in the original 1997 manual.
