Default Dometic fridge insulation damage

We just received a Dometic RM2351 we ordered online as a replacement for the RM2310 in our '99 Roadtrek 190P. The fridge suffered some shipping damage, photos of which are attached. I'd like to get a sense of whether the damage will have any affect on the fridge's performance.

Thanks.

my question would be whether the damage indicates IMPACT/drop /shock

in which case, which wire has been dislodged? or other unseen effect

and who is going to pay for a tech to solve that problem

Mike

I work in shipping electronic and music gear- how a piece travels is directly associated with it's service life- many of our pieces have physical shock indicators on the packaging- we also have bluetooth accelerometer devices which will transmit/record shocks

Excellent point. I'd noticed that the fridge had shifted on its palette. That suggests that significant force was applied when the damage occurred. We may escalate with the seller. For now we're waiting on their response - we had included shipping insurance in the purchase.

yes- insurance

If they offer to install w/ tech troubleshoot and extend warranty- AND cover costs should it fail and need replaced in the warranty period- great.

hard to tell from pics, but I'd be concerned

I hope you have better luck than I did in 9 years, with a Dometic RM2354 that was replaced twice by the previous pwner, once by me & almost a second time until I realized;

I wasn't the problem. Dometic is.

Did the other unit fail?

Do you have Solar?

Have you ever considered the DC Compressor version fridges out there?
