We always use the shower in our Class B - it's a stand alone walk-in shower. We never use a campground shower.

We don't have a shower and would not use it if we did. I would remove it and build storage in its place. Campground washrooms are much easier.

Re: Do you use the shower in your van?
We use ours in our Roadtrek regularly. I am going to modify it this month to make the bathroom "wet" and change the way the curtain hangs so it only goes three sides left open to the bathroom side to give more room and access to the shelves etc. Also for sitting down as desired. I plan to do a blog on it with pictures soon.

Yes, but will utilize campgrounds facilities when avail; appreciate having that shower in a B.

Not used it yet, and don't plan to.
My "co-pilot" says the mess isn't worth it, and she has no desire to deal with it.
We prefer public facilities at campgrounds or truck stops (actually t/s are quite nice for around $8, everything is provided, except razors and flip flops ).

Re: Do you use the shower in your van?
I use my van for Motorcycle events, where there is often a waiting line for showers. If the shower is a long way off, or I just feel it's inconvenient, I will use the van shower. I would not have a camper without a shower, it was one of my requirements.

Re: Do you use the shower in your van?
I've had my Class B for a year and a half and I have taken every shower in it - never use a campground shower. I'm one of the lucky "B" owners who have a separate walk-in shower - love it!

Re: Do you use the shower in your van?
We use our shower regularly. If we are in a campground, we'll use their shower - if available. The glory of driving a B, is that we can park "anywhere" and will then use our shower. I recently purchased a Zodi Hut shower enclosure that sets up very nicely along side the exterior shower on our van. It has a nice rubber-type floor to avoid making mud. Dries fast and is easy to set up. This is the way to go, if the weather isn't too bad.

I only have an outdoor one and never used it but who knows what the future brings. Possibly when boondocking in a remote place I just might.

Have only had our class b for less than a year now but have used the shower several times when on the road. We mostly use the van in motel mode so it works out well as there are no showers in rests areas and Hampton Inn parking lots. We take showers at the end of the day so the curtain can dry before we go to bed. Works well enough for our needs. I suppose we will use a campground shower if and when we came across a decent one.
YMMV

Yes, in my 2011 Roadtrek 210P the enclosed shower is just big enough for me to sit and do a navy shower. The door has a secondary latch which gives me a few more inches of space. It also has the hall floor drain with a wrap around shower curtain for a larger space, but we just use the enclosed shower.

We always use our RV's shower. We never use a public shower or restroom.

How do you do Hampton Inn parking lots without getting booted?

Wouldn't want to lug a bathroom around in a camper van
Blocks off a huge amount of valuable interior space - only used a few minutes a day.
Blocks off windows - makes the interior darker and colder.
Requires water heater with associated cost and complication.
Uses up limited fresh water supply.
Uses up grey water tank capacity.
Introduces water and leak points into the cabin - leads to eventual wood rot and corrosion problems.
Makes the vehicle heavier - reduces MPG, poorer handling.
In 20 years of van camping I've never had trouble finding a quick shower somewhere.

I pretty much agree with this and it is why we are glad we have a Chevy Roadtrek with the aisle shower that uses no extra room. In 14 years we have never needed it. We thought we would use it when we bought the van, but it just didn't work out that way as there are several ways around it the work better for us.

I always use the shower in our van. I placed some ceiling hoods for much larger shower curtain. Leave door open so have another 6-8inches of elbow room. It took me awhile to figure this out but it works much better.
Generally bath in afternoon when weather is warmer so drying off is more comfortable. I have measure the amount water used for navy shower with a water flow meter. It is about 1 gallon. Home shower uses about 30 gallons of water. Especially when back & shoulders are sore. I will stay under the hot water as long as I can tolerate to relieve muscle tension.
We learn to conserve water and tank space. It was the black tank which normally filled up first. We now do not flush #1 until it becomes a bit disgusting. Spray with urine deodorizer.
Generally stay for 4 nights before leaving. Maybe use 12-15 gallons of fresh water. Black tanks has about 9 gallons in it. The grey about 5 gallons. If water left in fresh water tank, we will dump it into the black to help with dumping.
