Do you ever connect fresh water inlet hose on your Roadtrek at RV parks or sites

Blowing the system out with compressed air instead of antifreeze seems to be OK for some folks and others have had some broken plumbing stuff. The manufacturers are not nearly as careful about good plumbing practices and low point drains as they used to be.

We have only had to use the pink antifreeze once last fall when we were traveling ...got home to Socal and dealt with the flushing the system in our driveway...we have a cleanout drain right in front of the house...and plugged into shore power whenever we're home...

On the road...if we needed to use the pink antifreeze...we would just use bottled water for drinking anyway...

It rarely freezes in LA.....

Don't think it's worth the risk of damaging the plumbing with compressed air..I agree 100 percent with you...

Well... you certainly don't want your plumbing system to fail either... a friend of mine said... the stuff wouldn't kill you.. but it tastes terrible!!

Again, we mainly use bottled water all the time anyway..

Rinsing it out of our system was not big deal...

There is absolutely no reason why a reasonably careful person should ever have freeze damage using the blow-out method. I have been doing it in a northern city for 13 years, often two or three times a winter. Early on I discovered that those complex "wand" kitchen sprayers are difficult to blow out and easily damaged. I now take all screw-off fixtures inside. PEX is not subject to freeze damage. Your water pump will be fine if you leave any filter cap unscrewed.

There is ZERO reason to use that stuff. We drink our water.
