Dinette Seats convert to Bed???How to??? Xplorer Van

Just bought my 1st RV, a 1988 Xplorer model 230. The instruction manual gives directions for folding the dinette seats down into a bed but it doesn't work. I've had two mechanics look at it and they can't figure out how it works. Does anyone have this model and will share the secret with me?

i just bought my first also, 1986 dodge xplorer 222.i have yet to introduce myself.are you talking about the 4 captains chairs up front?

It looks like the jackknife mechanism on the bed in my B+. With that, I used to lift up and pull the seat forward.
You might have to pull the back of the seat forward - compressing the "L" formed by the seat and seat back to a "V" to get it started.

Lucy844 - is there also a double bed in the rear? That's a lot of sleeping space for a Class B.

i have an original 3 ring binder with all info on the xplorer.i just found the information on the procedure required to lay those seats down.when im done scaning these histric documents,i will post it here.
