Coolcat roof mount

Has anyone had to deal with heavy vibration from their coolcat unit due to fan imbalance I suspect. My unit cools well but I’m afraid to leave it going(especially on high) as the vibration noise is unbearable and shakes my RT 190.

Welcome to the forum!

There are many owners here with the CoolCat (I'm not one of them). They will probably suggest you look inside to make sure the fan blades are not bent or missing.

Thanks Rowie. I appreciate your input. I have checked for missing blades etc. It is a squirrel cage fan and pretty sure it’s a wobble creating the imbalance. Wondering if anyone has experience the same and what they have managed
to do it with. Access is poor and a unit tear down is almost impossible without destruction. That said the unit functions properly but is old enough it wouldn’t be worth tearing it apart. Dometic is not too helpful either other than selling a replacement for it.

Unusual for a squirrel-cage fan to cause that much vibration. Hope others here will offer a tip or solution. If and when the time comes to replace the ac unit, there are recent posts here on how to do it and the difficulty of finding a replacement Coolcat or similar unit that will fit. But their posts prove it can be done.
