Default Conversion or Class B?

We took a little time and visited an RV dealer or two. we saw a few new Class B RVs, they all were nice but seemed to be a little big or 'over featured' for what we have in mind. We want the basic Class B features , more of a touring RV than a camper. What company builds a smaller more basic Class B unit? Thanks.

You pretty much have to go to a small company and do your own design. Take a look at Sportsmobile.

Have you seen the Roadtrek Ranger? I do know of a new 2014 for sale at a good price. Perhaps it is too big for your wants.

I guess you need to be a little more specific about what you want. How do you define what a "touring RV" is?

Sportsmobile, Van Specialties, or almost any mobility van upfitter could build what you want.

A friend got a GTRV conversion last year. Loves it. When the top is down it is very stealthy. http://www.gtrv.com/
Perhaps you might also want to consider a class C like the Tiger Adventure? www.tigervehicles.com

Thanks for the help! I am starting to lean more towards a basic conversion van. For now, we will be doing more touring and road tripping to short hotel stays, not actual camping. We just got back from a trip in a full size SUV. It was OK, but there really isn't enough room. There is no room for the passenger to fully recline, and the driver and front passenger area got cluttered quick. A van would be good for the passenger to move about a little more. Thanks for the suggestions, I will check them out. Thanks again.

Then I would take a hard look at the 136" Promaster Sherry van conversion. Or if you just need space and seats there are plenty of Sprinter passenger vans available. New I would do a Ford Transit passenger.
