Default Complaints about ClassBForum

I'm getting complaints in my Facebook group about people not being allowed into this forum. That the membership process fails and just hangs up.

They say that repeated emails get no response.

This is not just one case as I had weeks ago. But several people chiming in that they have been trying for months.

Please someone look into this. Thanks.

Social Knowledge - Online Community Network owns and runs the forum.

It should be very easy to join. Up-time must be close to 100%. Janet and Dirk have noted that there's a "Contact Us" link at the bottom of every forum page and that you do not have to be logged in nor be a member to contact the admins.

Did not work for me after I lost my password a couple of months ago. Did the "contact" thing 3 times and no luck. Weeks passed by. I asked Wincrasher if he could help, and thankfully, he was able to get someone's attention, and I got a "reset password" email finally.

A forgotten username or password is a DIY instant fix.

Class B Forums - Lost Password Recovery Form

For some reason I can't always find that link myself and my guess is Bob didn't see it either. Maybe it's a choice of browser issue.

Maybe the admins could make sure the forgotten username or password reset link - Class B Forums - Lost Password Recovery Form - is easily visible.

Typically the largest complaint I have ever received when running forums is the "missing" confirmation email. The email usually isn't missing, the user is just not able to find it. Typical forum software signup emails all look the same, so some mail systems see them as spam since they have the same content.

Ask people to check their bulk/spam email box for the email.

Unfortunately one thing most forum software does not include is a method to resend the confirmation email. This is a fault of the software designer, not the forum owner.

That's the link I used. Filled it in 3 times and no response. Browser is Safari, but did not get any error messages.

It's too bad you had trouble like that.

-------------

For anyone else - I think if you get as far as this message flashing by:

Your username and details about how to reset your password have been sent to you by email. You will now be returned to where you were.
Then check spam and or junk mail folders in case the email got blocked by a filter as Bruce mentioned.

I did check my spam folder. BUT the good thing is I have access again and can keep up/join in all the great discussions!
