Default Class B with rooftop "condo"

I know what Sportsmobile, VW, and others offer regarding pop tops, but wondered if anyone had thought or done something on a Promaster with basically a tent on top.

What I am thinking would be cool is a hatch/sunroof up front that allows easy access to the roof from inside the van (or could access from ladder on outside to prevent another roof hole) and then a tent or self contained pop up unit that becomes an extra room on top. This would prevent cutting much of the roof for structure issues, but open up a huge amount of space for those looking to accommodate/sleep more. Still limited by carry capacity at 4-5, but could allow couples or those with older children, the privacy desired. Of course, I am also thinking about cost, so let's assume $5000 (most likely doable without roof cutting)

Could a roof rack be put on top of the unit (I think I have seen on Travatos) that goes all the way around and then some type of support beams created. I have seen this on other vehicles. If anyone has website links to help that would be great.

Colorado Campers does pop tops on Promasters, but it stated that they can only be done on the low roof models... or so I read somewhere.

Check them out: https://www.coloradocampervan.com/

This another company specialized in tents, potential issue is if the max load is exceeded. https://cascadiatents.com/product-ca...rooftop-tents/
