Default cigarette / cigar lighter?

Hey everyone,

I have a E250 Ford 2009 that the cigarette / cigar lighter quit working?
So I checked the fuse and its still good.
So I guess my question is how hard is its to replace the cigarette / cigar lighter?

Thanks for your input.

Did it work before and now it doesn't since you've owned the van?

Just curious - have you tried it with the key in the accessory position?

Also, it looks like Fuse locations 65, 66, 67 and 72 are all accessory outlets. Fuse locations 67 and 72 would be for the dash accessory outlets. Have you checked all of those?

Markopolo: Thanks for the input....
I'll need to recheck the fuses.
I've only checked two out of the four you mentioned.

If it's the receptacle on the dash, probably not that difficult, depending on the position on the dash, and how much disassembly is involved. There are probably lots of inexpensive comparables to the OEM cigar lighter available at places like NAPA, O'Reilly AP, AutoZone, etc.
If it's the wiring, and you have to trace it behind the dash, it gets more complex (or not) depending on the amount of disassembly required.

If you aren't game to try it yourself, get a quote for it at a Ford dealership.
Or, a car audio installer could probably give you a quote, too.

btw, do you have any pics of your rig? I tried googling it, and can't find any. Unless it goes by another name or description. Manufacturer name? Is it Majestic?
Just curious what it looks like.
