Can't find a replacement p-trap... HELP
Has anybody had to replace a p-trap in an older RoadTrek? One of the threaded connectors broke off my shower's p-trap (1999 RT 190 Versatile). No big deal, I thought, I'll just run down to Home Depot and pick up a replacement. WRONG!
I haven't been able to find anything like this p-trap anywhere--Home Depot, Lowe's, local RV store, Amazon, Google search... Everything has the male/female threads reversed from what this fitting is (it's got a female threaded hub on one end and a female slip joint on the other side of the p-trap with a threaded hub glued in). I found one on Amazon that looked promising, but it turned out to be threaded for 1-1/2" pipe and mine is 1-1/4". I can't even use an adapter and make the p-trap go a couple inches lower, because it sits right above the gas tank and there's no room.
I can't imagine that this was a custom fitting made by RoadTrek, but I've had zero luck finding a replacement. I'm getting desperate enough that I'm considering buying a reamer, reaming out the end with the broken hub, and gluing in a new hub--except I can't find a 1-1/4" reamer either!
Anybody had to replace one of these? Any idea where I can find one? Should I give up, pack the male threads with silicone, and clamp on a rubber Fernco p-trap (assuming I can find one that will fit)?

It has been maybe 7-8 years ago, 05/04 190P, that I experienced maybe the exact or close to the same p-trap experience. I do not recall any of the dimensions at each end, but they were Not the same and like you could not find the p-trap that would work. SO I made, created one.
If I recall correctly the gray tank end was metric. I had to slip the metric 'coupler' over the end of the male end of the p-trap, except that it would not go pass the bend in the p-trap, bummer. So I used a dremel tool to remove part of the p-trap at the bend. Coupler was then ready to screw onto the pipe heading to the gray tank. But wait, there was a hole in the p-trap. So I used some epoxy to close up the hole - jb weld, pretty sure about that, but unimportant.
The failure was at the shower drain end, but I don't recall how I handled that. When finished I was very pleased with my handiwork. It did not and has not failed.
Hope all goes well. Otherwise, just take a shower in an appropriate location.
Bud

This is a 1 1/4 P trap but I don't know if the fittings duplicate what you have.

Broke three of them.
Before the Super Lifts.
But they are still vulnerable.
Went through the same process as you.
The solution is using thread on one & pressure fitting the second - went to a Plumbing store.
Will try & find photos

Found this one - maybe if you take it to a plumbing store they can ascertain what you need - I have others but they are buried in a laptop 50 miles away.
Give me 48 hours.
I thought at the time that I was going crazy until a repair shop guru got under for another 30 minutes & found the same conclusion
Yes, there is no thread on the other side, just pressure - it works

its using an adaptor I think & then using pressure on the other side of the U connection - it works - sometimes leaks a miniscule amout but so would I if fitted under an RV driven like a Car

Thank you for all the replies. I ended up buying a female threaded hub of the right size to connect to the shower drain, cutting off the broken bit of pipe flush with the end of the trap, and then joining them together with a rubber Fernco coupler. It was just the right diameter to fit tightly over the outside of the p-trap, although I did have to cut down the length. I also had to file off the raised lettering on the outside of the p-trap to stop it from leaking. Here's a couple photos.

Perfect - I thought I was the problem until my RV Guy got under there & confirmed the real issue.
Post this under modifications, it will be valuable for everyone & keep a duplicate repair kit - it will happen again if your Roadtrek leaves the driveway.
