Bumping my head on the air conditioner

I'm tall and I'm shopping for a class B Sprinter. All of the ones I'm interested in use Dometic air conditioners. In several models, I hit my head on the plastic thingee for the A/C. Dometic calls this thingee their Low-Profile Air Distribution box. I need at least some of the 2.5 inches that it takes out of the headroom in the aisle.

Are there other skinnier Air Distribution boxes that can be used? Ideas?

I'd ask some RV dealers to look into that for you. They should be able to get that info and you'd probably get the part from a dealer anyway.
