Default Anybody "Airbag" Their Sprinter?

Hi-

I'm interested if anyone has tried an aftermarket suspension upgrade on their Sprinter, and in particular the 3500 dually platform. I would like to get a few more inches of ground clearance on our Era for when we do dispersed camping. Currently, their is a lot of expensive stuff (e.g. generator) hanging uncomfortably close to the ground. Ideally, I'd like to get a few more inches of ground clearance when we are moving slow off pavement. But we've also notice the ride quality in back leaves a lot to be desired, although up front it feels pretty good. So improvements in ride quality on the highway would also be nice.

An example of what I am thinking about: https://agileoffroad.com/rip-kit-mercedes-sprinter/

Thanks,

dm

If you have endless $'s and time, I heard Advanced RV will install VB air ride kits and even suspension lifts. They install Mercedes 4x4 suspension components for the lift so everything is factory, but the lift doesn't include the actual 4x4 conversion.

But even if your had the $10's of thousand required, they may be too busy to take on outside work right now.

Try these folks, https://www.upscaleauto.com/sprinter_vans/ If I recall correctly Hein from the Sprinter forum had his rear suspension changed to pneumatic on his 3500 Sprinter by these folks. This is his thread https://sprinter-source.com/forums/i...22/post-275262 and this is the suspension, I think https://glide-rite.com/

Have you considered Sumo springs? We are seriously looking at these for our 3500.

I installed VB air suspension on my 2019 MB. It was installed by RWB Imports in Snellville GA. Prior I had Summo, but VB is superior. It was expensive, approx $10,000, but the ride and handling is improved. Also helps me level when parking.
