Default Another TruTank mystery . . .

My TruTank sensors worked great the first couple years. Now I am having a really weird, but repeatable, problem with the fresh water sensor.

After filling to any level, the sensor will continue reading zero for several days! Then, all of a sudden, it will give the correct level. It has been sitting in our garage for a couple days reading zero, but then the reading just pops up!

Any ideas? Bad sensor? Firefly sent me a rather useless (for my problem anyway) troubleshooting guide. A new sensor is not very expensive, so I have one on order.

Did you search Internet for clues? Was the system powered while filling the tank? Perhaps tank was overfilled to the level that sonic sensor couldn’t read correctly?

Thanks for the reply! Yes, I have been searching for a while. I will say there are a LOT of various problems with the TruTank system. None quite match mine, however.

Over filling does have a set of it's own problems, but in this case I just filled the tank a little over 1/2.

Since they work on sonar, sometimes these TruTank sensors can be thrown off by distortion in the tank over time. I'm not sure if this is the cause of your problem or not, but if you still need help, please call our support line at Firefly, 574-825-4600 M-F 8:30-5 EST except major holidays.
