Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
Nice find. So it looks like Safari Condo will build on the Promaster chassis. It looks like a shorter wheelbase model.
Too early for it to be on their website: http://www.safaricondo.com/index_eng.php

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
From the comments in French: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 354&type=1
It looks like they got 20 mpg US when they tested it with speeds to 65 mph. Probably before conversion.
Gas engine right now but they plan to be able to offer the diesel next May or June.
This first Safari Condo Promaster is 18'. As soon as they finish this build they'll start building a 21' long unit.
Bed is 55 1/2" wide.
This one will be available for purchase just after Christmas.

They do link it on the site with "secret project" button in the lower center.

Thank you - I see it now.
So, are we at four North American Class B manufacturers building on the ProMaster chassis?

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
Hopefully, they will get a floorplan up on the site sometime soon. They seem to be a pretty small operation, and the website seems to run quite a ways behind sometimes. When we looked at an Alto in a dealer in London (Ontario), they said that the trailer side of Safari Condo was backordered for many months. They do seem to have rebates on the class b's, though, so that side must not be selling as well.
Marko, what do you use to translate? Or are you a French speaker? I always seem to get really odd results from the translators I have tried in the past.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
Do they sell Safari Condo Bs in the US? I've seen them around but they were all Canadian.

Not sure on the B's, but they can now export the trailers to the US.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
So now the question will become "Who's not building on the ProMaster chassis?"

I've used different translators from EN to FR when I'm stuck or missing a word, or some meaning in context, including Google translate, and there's one built into the Google Chrome browser, I believe that can be turned on/off in the advanced settings menu. It's probably the best because it offers to translate pages automatically.
I used to use Babelfish as it was pretty simple and quick.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
Besides Sportsmobile, who will acquire the chassis for you (I think?), I wonder if anyone is offering the Promaster diesel chassis yet?
I also scrolled down the Safarai Condo page a bit out of curiosity, and they show/mention that their "Fiat (Promaster)" just arrived from Belgium, so is it actually a Ducato in your picture? Their "Promaster" is definitely sporting a Fiat grill badge.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
The Fiat they imported from Belgium is meant for destructive testing from what I read.
Cost of doing business I guess .............

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
Based on the similarities between the Ducato and Promaster, I guess you're right. Either would do as a guinea pig.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
If one wants a Ducato, they are sold in Mexico as well.

Re: Another Canadian Promaster coming
There are a lot of photos of the Safari Condo Promaster Flex under construction on Facebook with the up and down electric bed.
