Default Added 2000W Inverter to 2017.5 Travato K

I had AM Solar in Oregon do this just before all the fires started. They do great work. We put it under the head of the passenger side bed. That is where all the other wiring/charger etc. is located. Removed the charger and the Xantrax Freedom X 2000W fit perfectly.

Looks like it fits great. We upgraded to 2 x 100Ah lithium batteries and 3000W inverter to increase boon docking time and for the ability to run the microwave without being plugged in or running the generator.

Beautiful work - that wall is starting to look like a Nasa Control panel!

I know. If I had tank heaters there would be 2 more switches up there! Thinking of adding a weather station.

But its beautiful.

I, on the other hand, don't have a centralized Control Station but switches & knobs all over the place.

But I have used one area as my concession to Xmas;

364 days one of my walls looks like this;

You still have plenty of space.

I presume this is for you, the central location for all of the network?

How do you like your rig?

AM SOLAR do excellent work.

An excellent company to work with.

Yes, most everything is there. We like our Travato. I've been RVing a long time and knew there would be mods to do and little things to fix along the way. It is perfect for the wife, me and the dog! If all goes well we will probably go back to Alaska next year.

In 2016, I spoke with Winnebago at length, Sonya Kobriger was the person I believe & the K model was the unit I liked but was going to buy two of them & have my daughter have an exact model & run the non-profit as two separate entities but we need to reconfigure both for our needs.

Winnebago were very open & straight away supplies me with intricate engineering drawings, schematics & such.

The K is the most efficient space for my needs & we were going to place a whole series of storage cabinets over one of the beds, essentially eliminating one of them but would fabricate a slightly wider bed.

The issue really was a lack of storage in he unmodified unit.

I really like the rear bathroom - have you ever noticed any humidity issues back there with the shower & storage in the same air space?

I haven't had any humidity problems. There is a ceiling fan back there that could be used when taking a shower. Winnebago has great wiring, plumbing and parts schematics for all the models. Really comes in handy when fixing something.

Default Cost of solar upgrade

May I ask what it cost to upgrade to the larger inverter and lithium batteries? Thanks!

I didn't have an inverter before and I did not do lithium batteries. The installation (which many folks do themselves) cost was around 2 grand. Since I can't do DIY anymore and considering their excellent record it was worth it to me.
