Default AC bird nest

I I have a 2008 pleasure way and the Little Sparrow Birds get up under the air conditioning and build a nest and make a mess tried to using some foam rubber to block it off when not being used the birds just picked a hole through the foam rubber.

Was wondering if anybody else was having this problem where the air conditioning unit is resist into the roof and what kind of tricks they may have done to stop the birds

You could probably use stainless steel wool or copper wool just many of us use for mice in openings.

I wonder if mothballs would work ?

I use mothball or pieces of chlorine tabs in spaces where I've had issues.

Birds "pattern" on nesting locations and it's hard to break the cycle.

I have 3 locations around my house which are reused every year. Luckily not harmful or bothersome

I keep 'em out of things with very realistic looking rubber snakes made to protect gardens. They see the snake and don't land. I also put snakes under the rv when parked to keep mice and chipmunks from being tempted to crawl up into the engine compartment. It seems to work for me. Wrens are my trouble, mostly.

Wow I will try this, looked in Amazon and they have a good selection of rubber snakes to keep the birds away it is sure easier to build all kinds of things that would have to be taken down every time you drove away thank you so much

This is the solution I developed for the same problem on my Roadtrek.

I installed standard screen room screen behind the
AC cover. It covers the entire intake and is held in place by the AC cover screws. You can not see the
Screen unless you get right up to it. It does not interfere with the AC airflow. Keeps birds, insects and other little critters out.
