89 explorer electra magic 80 removal?

Hello, I have an 89 explorer 228, im trying to replace the "Slide EZ-Valve #12836" on the "Electra Magic Model 80" but I have no idea how to remove the toilet, I looked in the manual and all it says is "Remove slides by catching tabs with a hooked instrument and pulling forward"

If I pull on these any harder something is going to break if im even pulling on the right thing at all, i have tried a long hook and pull but nothing happens.

Hopefully someone here might have a trick to get this toilet out so I can repair it , Im thinking it might be eroded or something and needs WD-40 sprayed down there, im out of options and very frustrated
