Default 5 year LiFePO4 update from Technomadia coming in August

I was happy to see that the Technomadia folks will present an update on their lithium battery installation after 5 years in use:

Quote:
Coming Up: August 2016 – 5 Year Update – August will mark our 5-year anniversary of installing our LFP batteries. We anticipate a full update on how the system has done (yes, we seem to have stopped the pre-mature aging reported at 3.5 years with the adjustments made), what we’ve learned, what we would have done differently, what the options are now and what might be in our power future plans.
Lithium Ion Batteries for RV Motorhome House System - LFP / LiFePO4 | Technomadia

Both Technomadia and Mar Azul Sailboat owner had reported capacity loss that seemed to present a break even long term outcome (financially) if compared to AGMs. The coming update from Technomadia should be an interesting read.

Let's not temper the lithium battery marketing hype with real world performance results...

well, bear in mind that they admitted that they cooked their battery pack in extreme desert heat in an unventilated compartment. while their results will be interesting, they are not conclusive because of their initial abuse of these batteries.

But they adjusted their setup.

Whatever they adjusted, keep in mind the damage was done before. On the plus side, they got 3-1/2 years and now evidently 5 years with a setup and usage that was destroying AGM batteries.

I haven't checked their site since the initial 3-1/2 year report. One thing they didn't have was intelligent information which was unavailable when they first installed that could monitor voltage and battery temperature down to the cell level. I wonder if they added that. It would have helped in the first 3-1/2 years.
