Default 2017 ERA control panel

We recently spent 4 days dry camping in Death Valley in our ERA. Everything went pretty well but the control panel would shut down after a few hours and we would have to reset the power switch. We have not yet purchased solar panels and are looking into them. I am assuming that the computerized power panel shuts itself down after a period of inactivity. I would appreciate any input as to the capacity of solar panels that would facilitate our dry camping experience and if this is normal for the control panel to do.
