2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
http://winnebagoind.com/products/cla...specifications
Two notable changes:
The addition of the Truma water heater on both floorplans.
Two group 31 AGM batteries.
One notable option:
A vent fan with remote and cover. I'm guessing this is a higher end Fantastic Fan model with the cover option. For me, this is a must have since I can leave it running to keep the rig vented in the summer heat.

This is very encouraging news. The all electric water heater made the 59G unacceptable for me. The dual battery setup is very nice upgrade, looks like they are listening. Now if they could figure out the shower drain, and why do they have a macerator on the grey water?

The macerator must be because they have to pump up, right? I think I read that somewhere. There are a couple of good videos on youtube.

Yes, the fridge has not changed as per the spec sheet. It is still the Dometic three-way.

Re-read the first post. The Truma system is a huge, huge change. They are also adding the power management system that is in the 59K. From the description, it looks like the ventilator is the MaxxAir Deluxe.
Question is, where are they putting it? My guess is it's sliding right in where the furnace was located. Under the dinette seat is too close to the fuel fill - that is why there was no gas water heater there to begin with.
I do wonder why they just didn't add the engine heat recirc lines to the Atwood unit? It already has the ports. That would be alot less trouble. Must be Winnebago is really committing to this Truma system. Wonder if we'll see it in their Sprinters too?
The second battery will go underneath and use the same bracketry as in the 59K is my guess. So what will be under the dinette seat now? Just empty? A drawer or cabinet?

Re: 2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
The Truma will go under the dinette seat. It's tight, but without the enormous seat belt stand, it fits. Unlike the standard RV water heaters, the intake and exhaust for the Truma can be ducted, and this allows them to get it far enough away from the fuel fill.
My understanding is the batteries will be as in the 59K. And, as suggested, the vent is the Maxx Air.
The grey and black tanks are actually pretty far away from each other, and to get the water out of the grey tank, it has to go up hill slightly before dropping down to the drain pipe. I don't see that macerator going away any time soon.

Hmm...so you loose the belted seats. So then why would you need the dinette to make a bed?
In one fell swoop, they made the van that would appeal to small active families, well, not.

Re: 2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
Does anyone know how many and how much solar can fit on the roof? Do the two models vary in their solar ability?
Also does fitrv know if they will offer a rhino lined or similarly coated plastic bumper treatment instead of painted bumpers.
Thanks for all the great info.
JP
p.s. Now if they could just get a convection microwave or gas oven in the 59g.

Re: 2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
If the Truma unit is placed under the rear dinette seat, then what is going to be where the furnace is now? I'm hoping that area can be used for more storage space, perhaps a large pull out drawer.
As for solar, they have a 100 watt panel option and a charge controller that can allow a second panel to be plugged in. On the 59g, there are two spaces for panels, so I wouldn't be surprised if one could fit a second 100-250 watt panel on the roof.
Winnebago has done wonders with this model. The first year, it was the first in the US on the platform, second year fixed a lot of annoyances, and it looks like what were the biggest shortcomings, such as the electric only heater are addressed as well.

Don't know about rhino lining, but that would be easy enough to add on your own if you really wanted it.
Convection microwave is a bit bigger. No room for it in the G.

Re: 2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
Flew up to Seattle from Oregon on biz and decided to travel a little north a stop into an RV dealer. I just missed seeing a 59K. The Winnebago instructor/trainer was there yesterday. Today he has the 59K in Oregon
Looked again at the 59G. That seat by the door just makes it too cramp. Hopefully the 59K is as spacious as it appears on the website. I don't want to step up to a B+.

Re: 2016 Winnebago Travato specs are out...
It seems lately that everything they present at these RV shows becomes a real product - remember when we scoffed at the idea of a red van? - so don't be surprised if that rhino lining is offered as an exterior option soon.

Re belted seats at dinette. The floorplan diagram shows 2 seatbelts.

Does anybody know how much solar can fit on the roof. Do the two models vary in their potential solar capacity due to vents etc.?
Thanks,

Oh that's what those symbols are!!!! Now I get it. Thanks! Constantly learning
Only 2 front ones in the 59K, none on the dinettes, as I suspected...
