Default 2008 Roadtrek power step.issue

We have a 2008 Roadtrek SS Agile and the power step keeps going in and out while driving. Anyone have a solution to fix this??

Likely replace or realign the sensor that opens the step. Beyond that I couldn't tell you where to look or what you need.

Or go old school and simply install a switch in the power line to the step and turn off the power when not in use.

If you haven’t already, try a web search on something like roadtrek sprinter step opening while driving . There were several links with some possibilities. Bad or loose ground wires, bad switches, etc. Here was the best link https://sprinter-source.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=23898

Or you could take them off and replace them with fixed running boards. That was our choice on our build and I've never once thought, "Gee, I wish we had electric steps." Running boards aren't quite as deep, but with a little practice they work fine, and they're one less potential distraction from having fun.

Tape a thin Neodymium disc magnet over the sensor, located on the lower right of the door frame, looking into the interior. This will trick the sensor into thinking the door is always closed. Use 3M VHB double-stick tape if you want to keep the step retracted semi-permanently or use duct tape over the magnet if you want to retain the ability to use the step.
