Default 2008 ford econoline e250 front seats.

My Ford front seats are on an angle. They are not square to the dashboard, is this normal for ford. I’m sitting on an angle.

Pretty typical on the vans that have the engine doghouse in the cab as there is limited space to the outside of the van.

The footwhell is outboard of the doghouse and is too narrow to have a seat line up with it without the seat being very narrow, so they put the seat as far outboard as they can and angle it so your feet are in the footwell.

That seems about right!
I remember my Ford vans were about the best of the bunch. My 94 Dodge was way off from the steering wheel. My 06 Ford was pretty good. My 17 Chevy in aligned with the steering wheel pretty good but the wheel is not square with the dash. Finally, my 94 Dodge had more firm padding on the outside of the seat compared to the inside edge. My guess is that was to help prevent seat failures from entering and exiting the vehicles. My back used to hurt when I drove the dodge. One day I placed a piece of plywood on the seat to test the foam. When I sat on it, I would list and find myself leaning toward the interior. That was my last Dodge. After changing the seats out to another brand, that issue went away. My 2020 Transit is the best thus far of all the vans and brands I have owned. The motor is way out front where it is supposed to be so there is plenty of room in the passenger compartment. I don't think there is access to the engine from the passenger compartment.

But because the seats are on an angle inward my right foot sometimes has a tendency to hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Surely this is not normal.

AFAIK, it is absolutely normal as I described in my first reply.

If it is that much of an issue, you may need to get a front drive van like a Promaster instead as they should have more cockpit foot room, and Jojobafanz mentioned that the new Transits appear to be more in line.
