Default 2006 Roqdtrek 210 AC issue

A couple of weeks ago we were using the AC with the generator, it ran great for about 3 hrs. When I adjusted the thermostat both generator and AC stopped. I turned off the the AC and restarted the generator which was running great, but when I turned on the AC again both units stopped. When we got home I plugged the Roadtrek in and the AC worked fine. The generator worked fine also. They work good on their own but not together. Could it be the transfer switch? Any help would be much appreciated.

altitude ?

if you were up high the genny's rated power drops due to the thinner air- there is an altitude adjust behind the cover on the onan 2800, but even adjusting the fuel mixture won't make up for the lost power
2800 rating is at sea level.

does your genny power the microwave or other devices plugged into it ?

( when I exercise my genny I use it to power garden tools out back rather than a long ext cord from the house)

mkguitar, altitude is a good question. This RV came from Prescott AZ which is over 5000 elevation and the place we had issues was at 646 elevation. But, would it run for 3 hours if it is set for the higher elevation?

start off by sliding under and removing the cover- the 2 black plastic tabs push up to unlatch it.
Don't drop it on your nose.

the is a yellow label on the carb showing the altitude, check the setting.

some models also have a "cold weather/hot weather" lever by the air cleaner left side, top- check that is where you want it

Bear Lake and Bruin Lake were 2 of our favorite camp outs in Michigan

Thanks Mike, I will check it out. Will also check out Bear and Bruin lakes. We have been by Bear lake but never camped there.

Ahhh, you are alive! Responded to PM on 7/31 with a suggestion and hadn't received an update. Have you checked the voltage and frequency of the genny (both with no load and with your AC unit on)?
