Default 2001 Roadtrek Popular 200 - Pricing guidance

Hi everyone,

The wife and I are looking for a good sub-$20K Class B. We found a Roadtrek Popular 200 that has the 3rd seat which we need but I'm a bit confused by the asking price. I realize pricing used RV's is fairly difficult, but to me the asking price is pretty steep.

I went to NADA to get a baseline. It says average retail is $17.5K, which seems pretty fair at first glance. I found a Craigslist ad for a 2001 200 Popular and their asking price is $26.5K, which is quite a large difference. I double checked on RVTrader.com searching country-wide, and for similar 200's the asking price is about the same +/- $3K.

My gut tells me the folks selling it on Clist are asking to much and so is everyone selling on RVTrader. But again, pricing is also a tricky subject so I'm looking for some help from current owners or anyone who has experience with these.

Thanks.

I found NADA to not be a reliable guide for class "b's" and well under-priced compared to what most seller's were asking. After nearly a year of looking, I found what I wanted and it was about $10K less that other similar models I'd been seeing. Still over-priced, but it seems to be a seller's market. Find one you like in good shape and make an offer. Just be prepared in the end, to pay more than you intended.
