Default 2001 PopD AC model

Ok, it finally happened yesterday while on the road. My Fedders AC gave it up. I replaced one in my last ‘96 PopD with an LG 1009r. I can’t find one anywhere! I’ve looked for alternative units and the only thing I can find is a LG 6017r. It’s smaller than the 1009 and the original Fedders by 4” wide and a little in height. It is a 6k BTU but, it looks like the vents where the air comes out is set back and on an angle. It doesn’t come out of the front like the other two ACs. Has anyone installed the LG 6017r who can tell me if it works properly designed like this? Does anyone know of an AC unit that will fit, has at least 6k BTU and is actually available somewhere?
Thanks. There are no 12” tall ACs being made now it appears.

Somewhere in these prior posts you should find suggestions.

Default Finding AC unit

I went through all the posts I’ve saved and could find. Nothing recommend a current unit that is still made and will fit. Any help is appreciated.

You may want to ask on the reborn Yahoo board. Lots of older model AC stuff has been discussed there. Sign up to post, I think. Search is much better than Yahoo was, but all the Yahoo history is transferred so best of both.

I just put a LW6019ER (I think 6k) from Sams club in the back of my hightop 2000 chevy express, it has a flat front face.
