Default 2000 Rt200 Chevy freshwater tank questions

What are they made of?

Stupid drain hose nipple broke off in a terrifying encounter with a plastic traffic barrel on I70 this winter, lol.

Thing rocketed across the highway in a gale and the car next to me hit it annd kicked it under my van.

All was good accept the plastic drain pipe nipple on the freshwater tank.

Thanks for the help on this

The nipple is easy to replace if the old nipple was threaded and those threads are still good. If not, but the tank is otherwise ok, find someone who can spin weld a new connection onto the tank. The tank is some sort of plastic and a professional can fix it without too much expense I suppose.

Perfect.

I hope I can find someone here in NoCO that does this. The tank is perfectly fine other than this issue.

Here is a link to a post I made here that recounts my successful tank repair with a product called "gloozit".

fwiw dept.....that tank is polypro or polyethelene.....not sur which and either one can be heat/melted for repair or other.....a larger wide tipped soldering gun works & is what I've used, not in tat appication.....you can get the same (or better) results using a smaller outlet hot air gun and polypro welding rod available from McMaster Carr & many other places.....& all of that is way, way better than than using an open flame of some sort....

I knocked mine off exiting a road with a high drop off. I used MarineGoop to put it back on. That was 5 years ago. Still holding on and not leaking.
