2000 PW slide out battery tray

Hi all!! Sorry if this has been covered, I can’t find a search box.
We have a 2000 PW excel td, and I cannot slide out the house battery box. I know it works, because I had it open wnen I bought the rig about 5 years ago.
I pull up on the lock, it gets clear, but the tray won’t budge. It doesn’t even jiggle, so I’m sure its still locked down.
What am I missing??

must be dirt or grit in the slides


all i can say is pull harder, guide the cables/ see that they aren't catching
you could try a spray into the rail guides to wash away grit- wd40 may do it but require a good cleaning up after- a brake or carb cleaner may be better


afterward you can lubricate the slides




Not so long ago I removed my battery so I could clean the tray and slides
