Default Onan Carb

I purchased this one last week and it works very well! The filter that's included was garbage (made of plastic).

Just go to O'Reilly and order Fuel Filter #149-2137 (metal) with 1/4" connections for $ 5.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GKG6TMT...roduct_details

Good luck!

Keep us updated on how this works out for you.

What are you doing with the take off carb, going to service it?

Nah... the new carb will outlast me. And I just wouldn't make the time. I'll probably keep it for my son to tear into so he can see how a carb works... he's interested in taking stuff apart.

do you have the ability ( fluke meter) to test the frequency of the AC produced- ? just wndering how close the amazon carb is out of the box.

also the altitude compensation once you get some use out of it

Donno anything about fluke meter. But I adjusted the altitude switch last weekend in the Bighorns... didn't notice a huge difference, gen ran just fine at the 5000 ft option and above. But this was a genuine Onan "Green Label Parts" carb

carb adjustments help determine the frequency of the power generated.

we want 60 hz ( many flukes will have a setting for this). running the frequency too high or too low can burn out electric motors such as the air con.

that's why I ask.

Yes I cleaned up the old carb and keeping it as a spare. However, I'm not sure that it will work...

if you can remove and physically clean the jets and needles, then seal it up so it doesn't leak fuel out, or air in- you should be in good shape
