1997 DODGE RAM 3500 XPLORER CAMPERIZED VAN (CLASS B)

I am trying to get a idea of what a reasonable purchase price would be for a 1997 Dodge 3500 Xplorer. I live in the Houston TX area and and the van is owned by a friend of mine in Calgary Alberta. He purchased it last January in Illinois and he has since found out it can not be registered in Canada. My idea was for my wife and I to fly to Calgary, purchase it from him and then enjoy a driving vacation across the USA North to South and possibly reselling it here in Texas. I know what he has in it ($12,000.00 US) but have been told by a couple of supposedly knowledgeable car guys here in TX that I could not achieve anything close to that return here due to the age of the vehicle. I have tried to search for comps on line but haven't had much luck. I will list the particulars on the vehicle and would welcome any tips or info that anyone familiar with this make/model could give me.

1997 DODGE RAM 3500 XPLORER CLASS B, 56,000 Miles , with 5.9L 360 V8 engine, AT with Overdrive, Power window, power locks, power mirrors, Converted in 1998 by XPLORER MOTORHOMES 2 burner LPG Stove, 2 way fridge, microwave oven, sink, hot and cold running water, furnace, dash and roof AIR CONDITIONING, GREY and BLACK WATER HOLDING TANKS,*SHOWER TOILET, RAISED ROOF, head clearance 72 inches, Television, Awning. (It does not have a GENERATOR. )
I have replaced REAR AXLE SEALS, FRONT BRAKE PADS,and REAR BRAKE SHOES, Changed all fluids, added a rear backup TV and a GPS system.....

Some cars age less gracefully than class B RVs. Of course, anything is only really worth what
someone else will pay for it.

Thank You Mike. I appreciate the reply. From viewing your posted links and what I have been able to find myself, I think the info I got down here might not be that accurate and a price of around 12K would not be out of line. If you or anyone else see any more comps I would appreciate looking at them. Having never owned any type of RV before, I am grateful for all assistance I can get.

You're welcome. I think mileage, and service history, were the most important issues
we looked at when we bought our '02 RT in '08. I think it was well taken care of by the
previous owners. We got some info from the dealer who sold it to it's original owner,
but it wasn't definitive. We're owner # 3, and we do our best, and hope to get a few
more miles out of it.
You'll know if the '97 Xplorer is worth the asking price.
