Default Newbie from PEI

Been lurking for a year while we figured out which way we were going to go as far as a unit is concerned. Have traveled across Canada using roof top tents in the past, but now that the kids are out of the house and graduated we decided it's time for us to get out and enjoy traveling again.

We have been searching for the right rig(headroom) for 3 yrs. Finally came up with the Roadtrek 200 versatile. Found a high mile 1997 locally. It has a new GM crate motor with 1500km on it. Thanks for all who post great info on this site, cause it made the decision to buy and put this unit through a "Mid-Life Refit" easy.

Welcome! Your timing is excellent - the last of the federal COVID restrictions were dropped the other day. I am originally from Nova Scotia but I've lived in the U.S. for decades (grad school / career / life). We traveled from Houston in 2020 and did 2 weeks of off-grid quarantine in our van (I own wilderness property in NS). But in 2021, the restrictions were just too onerous and unpredictable, so it became the first year in 14 years that we decided not to make the trip. We have been on the fence for summer 2022, initially thinking that we would not go, because we would still end up effectively excluded socially, and why drive 6,000 miles for that? But they dropped the last of the restrictions the other day.

So, you got a B van right at the point where you could finally come and and go both domestically and to the U.S. if you wish, and not be overburdened with restrictions.

It needs work on every component, and a total gutting inside to see what shape it's in under the stained fabric panel walls and bed boards.

Needs a water heater, propane tank, furnace control-thermostat, fridge repair, cupboard doors rebuilt, window rubbers replaced, body washed buffed, and waxed. Roof gel coated or painted.

Rockers repaired, windshield, Transmission rebuild, and rear axle inspection.
