Is there a data plate on the sill of the drivers door? If yes it might have the colour codes listed on it. It could be black with a silver border. This is your best bet.

And just to be sure, those are painted and not striping (stickers)?

Google is your friend, I found the following

Paint Chips 1986 Ford Truck

However, using the page below it appears that there was no purple in 1986

Purple Ford Econolines at PaintRef.com

So this was
1) an upfitters colour choice, and not factory paint
2) it wasn't called "purple" by Ford in 1986. I know that's strange to understand, but it's how auto manufacturers work.
3) that website is missing data or full of it

Yes, that is how I found the base Tan paint code, problem is, the additional purple colour was added by "Okanagan" Van Conversion company, so only they would know the paint code, I can get the colour matched but finding the code would be better....but thanks, all help is appreciated. I did try emailing Okanagan but no replies...

in general there are only a few paint manufacturers.

the exact same paint may be given different names for different brands.

for instance through the 50's/ 60's GM, ford, gibson, fender and harley might all use the exact same paint ( usually from dupont..."DUCO" )with many differing "names" esp GM who might use a different name for each division.

your and most paint shops will try to color match with era correct paint chips held against an area of paint with reduced sun fading.
failing that they can color match same as home depot and the machine will give them a formulation based on optical scan.
