Default looking at RIALTA

I have been camping for many years I am 73 in good health. I have just sold my previous RV and now checking into class B units.. I have a 2000 m-22fd vw I am checking out to buy. I have not seen it yet other than pictures.

I would appreciate any info from others on what too check for or issues on this model. It has 73000 miles on it and some minor hail damage. It has been under cover and pictures look good. I am not familiar with VW chasis and motors, he indicated about 16/18 mpg.

I am in Pottsboro Texas at LAKE TEXOMA

I am also a Ham Radio Operator

Retired Telephone Switching Equipment Installer [GTE]

Thanks for any advise

Mac

Hi Mac ,

welcome with us ,

I have a 2000 FD , we love the real size bed ,

what to look for .....

Id say : look at undercarriage for heavy rust under the undercoating ( it hides )

brake lines rust ( cheap to replace )

look for any sign of water infiltration around the dome .....

look for sealer deterioration all over the seams (easy to fix )

try the vehicle : close the radio lolll............fell the transmission ,it has to shift well .....look if there is an tranny oil cooler in front of the radiator .....

engine : no weird noise at start up , they are quite sturdy

Dan

You need to go to this URL: http://www.rialtainfo.com and look under "How to buy or sell a Rialta". Lots of info and what to look for.
