Welcome to the forum efgjr!
I bought a used '2012 in '2017(Airstream Avenue on Chevy Express 3500 chassis). Some problems were previous owner neglect but perhaps others were due to things that were just ready to quit after 5 years. Regardless, I had a lot of items to replace. I say replace because it was a lot easier to just replace rather than fix and item. It was also cheaper for me to replace than to pay an rv dealer an exorbitant labor rate for questionable levels of honesty and expertise.
While it was frustrating and a bit costly, it was also rewarding to be able to do the work myself with the help of this forum and youtube. I also became intimately knowledgeable with the workings of my rv.
Now it is trouble free and I'm confident to take it on trips. I hope you are able to do the same and begin enjoying trips in your Hymer. And remember, while you have no factory Hymer warranty, you may have some appliances that have their own separate warranties.
Good luck.
