Hi and Welcome,
As you know rust never sleeps.
A vehicle not stored over winter and subjected to salt will rust.
Rusty brake rotors is no big deal, but body rust or frame rust can be a real problem.
I've noticed crazy rust damage on some sprinters.
what to do ?
Call around for a mercedes sprinter specialist to inspect it for you.
There is mercedes and dodge or you may need to call freightliner due to the height and weight of our vans many shops cannot accomodate. some sprinters were badged as freighliner and some truck dealers are comfy with them.
You may want to get the DEF and emissions systems scrutinized and/or do research on which model years are more reliable than others.
( and while doing this you may appreciate why many of us go for chev or fords)
the R/T may be a 2008 model year chassis, common with RV's for the chassis to be a year earlier than the RV model year
rodents- if bad, I suppose a matter of removing everything possible and spraying down with a cleaning agent like bleach. That should be worth a healthy discount- does that mean all the soft surfaces and upholstered have to be redone ?
I use mothballs here in AZ
good luck to you!
