Default Brand new Rv'r !

Just bought 2003 Roadtrek 190 popular after many months of research and looking.
Fully retired. Me,my wife and dog.First goal-
Route 66 from end to end with no time restrictions. I've driven the entire western US
for the last 30 years- from Texas to Alaska, but never in an rv. So looking for guidance !

Cool!

I'd suggest a few practice runs until you get a feel for what you need and don't need, what you like and don't like, etc.

Congrats on your new RV and upcoming adventures. I think a Route 66 trip would be a lot of fun. I've driven much of it, but not start to finish.
1) Get the app called Overnight RV Parking. They list over 13,000 places you can boondock in a parking lot for FREE. Very handy when you don't want to set up camp for the night.
2) Use RV/Marine toilet paper.
3) Don't feed the bears.
Enjoy!

Be sure to hit the musical section of 66 where it plays "America the Beautiful" if you drive 45. New Mexico.

Since my daughter and son-in-law live in Albuquerque, NM, we've driven that fun short stretch a few times...... it's on Hwy 333/Rt 66 near Tijeras, east of Albuq and parallel to I-40. Eastbound at 45mph.

Congrats on the new RT - you'll definitely get more kicks on route 66 with it. I recommend EZ66 guide by Jerry McClanahan. Quick, concise guide with west & east bound routes, shows side trips, interests, historic vs new routes, etc. Maps thru-out beautifully illustrated hand drawn images. Have fun
